March 25, 2008 To Whom It May Concern:
Recently, I had a very pleasant experience with your shop on Park Road that I would like to tell you about.
I have a son in the West Hartford Public Schools who participates in the high school music program. As one of the concert requirements, he was told to buy a tuxedo for a performance.
I couldn't imagine that growing children were required to have such an expensive uniform. Unable to find one to borrow from my neighbors, I racked my brain as to how I could get one.
Someone suggested trying the thrift stores. I couldn't imagine that they would sell such an elegant item. I had an image of thrift stores as being dingy and dreary with heaps of
clothes in disarray. I asked which one to try and they suggested the UConn Auxiliary shop on Park Road. They told me that it was a great store for fashionable clothes.
I telephoned the store and the very nice manager answered that they did, indeed, have a tuxedo for me. I sped right over there and grabbed it. The woman - I believe her name was Susan
- was very pleasant and helpful. While I was there I looked around and bought a few other items as well. The store looked sparkling and beautiful, very far from the dismal look I had
expected.
I was thrilled to have such an affordable solution to my problem. Your store provides an important community service and I am grateful that you had what I needed.
Thank you very much.
